Adjacent to the Protocols for Publishers Showcase in New York, we're planning a community hack day!
We're planning an ATProto Community Hack Day in New York City on Friday, August 22nd!
Some of the projects & people who will be around include:
Some "friends of ATProto" like Unternet, n0, Folk Computer[1], ROOST are also likely to be around, and there are lots of other great creative technologists in NYC that are likely to want to come join.
We have a provisional venue (thanks Hex House!) where we can gather during the day and then do a larger presentation and demo focused evening event.
Rough schedule:
10am - 4pm: community hacking, small group discussions. Will start and end by gathering
4pm - 6pm: reconfigure space for presentations and socializing
6pm - 9pm: evening presentations
Please RSVP on Smoke Signal and join the chat above so we can plan together, and add yourself below along with what you want to talk about!
Use cases / requirements. Maybe look at OAuth scopes alongside of this?
What should Smoke Signal core do?
Smoke Signal for multi day / conference / week long events
Smoke Signal apps -- e.g. Luma clone focused on RSVPs
Running an instance / hacking on Smoke Signal
Who wants to come to FOSDEM? More local meetups (who is going to run NYC ongoing!) What non-ATProto events should we present at in the coming year?
Onboarding to rsky codebase, roadmap, plans[2]
