An actor is an AT Protocol primitive that denotes the author of a record or repository. It broadly refers to a user, service, or bot account that can perform actions within the protocol.

Actors are commonly identified with a unique DID, such as did:plc:bv2ckchoc76yobfhkrrie4g6.
